KOOLKIDZ Pop-Up Sports Camp (DESOTO)

Service Description

Introducing the KOOLKIDZ Pop-Up Sports Camp from Closed Spaces Inc.! Our volunteer coaches mentor small groups of kids in exciting sports activities like basketball, football, soccer, tennis, and track and field. With camps popping up all around the community, KOOLKIDZ will receive a sports jersey, C.S.I. water source, notepad, and backpack to ensure they have what they need for a fun and active experience. Join us in building a love for sports and physical activity in our youth! The KoolKidz camp is designed for children of various age groups. It provides a well-rounded experience that combines physical activity, cognitive development, and self-expression. Whether they’re learning team dynamics, freestyling new moves, or reflecting on their experiences, KoolKidz of different ages can benefit from this engaging and fun camp! PHASE 1: Team Building & Sports Demonstrations Start of the Day: The camp begins with a light stretch to prepare the KoolKidz for the day’s activities. Group Formation: Participants are divided into small co-ed groups. Within these groups, they create team names, chants, and assign positions for the appropriate sports. Sports Demonstrations: Two slightly similar sports are demonstrated, allowing the KoolKidz to explore different games. Practice and Drills: Light practices and drills help participants become familiar with the sports. Friendly Competition: Phase 1 culminates in friendly competition. KoolKidz play two five-minute quarters for the first sport and another two quarters for the second sport. PHASE 2: Individual Focus & Freestyling Cognitive Skills: During this phase, cognitive skills come into play. Shift to Individual Performance: KoolKidz shift their attention from team dynamics to individual performance. They have the opportunity to freestyle and apply the new moves they’ve learned during the demonstrations. Encouraging Creativity: Problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity are encouraged as participants adapt their skills in action. PHASE 3: Reflection & Feedback Symbolic Memories: Engaging in various activities creates symbolic memories for the KoolKidz. Reviews and Feedback: Phase 3 focuses on reviews and feedback. Participants share their thoughts about the camp, their experiences, and any passion *Please be sure to provide your child with the appropriate shoes and attire for sporting activities!* i.e. tennis shoes, sunscreen **A light lunch will be provided, please list any allergies known on KOOLKIDZ form.
